Some sixty participants crossed the finish line in the Lister Insurance Junior Classic invitational road race held on Bermuda Day [May 24] with Quincy Kuzyk and Jade Johnston taking the top spots in the male and female divisions.
The race covers a distance of some two miles, starting on Front Street at the junction of Front and Court Street. The route travels west along Front Street to the Bird Cage, then right onto Queen Street, right onto Church Street, left onto King Street, left onto Victoria Street, right onto Cedar Avenue, right onto Marsh Folly Road and then right onto Dutton Avenue to the finish line.
Quincy Kuzyk clocked a winning time of 11:02 while Tommy Marshall placed second in a time of 11:14 and Jake Brislane crossed the line third stopping the clock at 12:19. Matthew Elliot clocked a time of 12:32 while Seth Hardtman finished in 12:40 wrapping up the top five males.
The first female participant to cross the line was Jade Johnston placing 10th overall with a time of 13:05. Myeisha Sharrieff was the second female finisher with a time of 13:09 while Jessie Marshall picked up the third spot with a time of 13:20. Katherine Bean-Rosario was the fourth female with a time of 13:45 and Kayla Raymond clocked 13:45 wrapping up the top five females.
