The festivities for Bermuda Day have kicked off, beginning with a mini-marathon organized by Tree Tops II Preschool, followed by a parade on May 23.
A spokesperson said, “We have invited our friends and families to join us as we celebrate our Bermuda Heritage. The students from the Heron and Kiskadee Classes [3-4 year olds] started the event with a mini Marathon around the perimeter of the property.
“The Bluebird Class lead the parade showcasing Bermuda as the northernmost coral reef in the world and a precious resource that we must protect. The Longtail Class made a Moongate where legend claims that lovers who walk through the Moongate holding hands will be blessed with eternal love and happiness.
“The Cardinal Class honoured Bermuda’s floral beauty with the children and their families helping to make Frangipani, Hibiscus, Bermudiana and Lillies. The Heron Class represented Bermuda’s Public Transportation Department by making pink buses with signs showing all the different routes they serve.
“The Kiskadee Class made the Bermuda Train and Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and were accompanied by students dressed as Majorettes and Gombeys. Wishing everyone a Happy Bermuda Day.”
